Prep + Care

PRIOR TO YOUR LASH/BROW APPOINTMENT

  • Make sure all client consent forms are filled out prior to your appointment
    (For lash Extensions, Tinting, Brow Lamination and Lash Lift)

  • Arrive 5-10 minutes early to your appointment to cleanse your lashes and use the bathroom

  • Come with freshly cleansed face, this allows more time for your service and less time removing makeup

  • Remove all eyeliner, eyeshadow and concealers

  • Avoid thick moisturizers, sunblocks and eye creams within a few hours of your appointment

    We understand if you are coming straight from another obligation and do not have your cleansing products with you. We will provide makeup remover and lash bath at the studio, but please remember to arrive early so cleansing does not cut into your lash time. ​

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR LASHES

If wearing eye makeup, use oil free makeup remover.
Dispense borboleta's gel or foam lash bath into clean wet hands or on to a clean swoop brush
Gently glide your clean swoop brush around the entire eye area & through the lashes
Rinse using your clean swoop brush and cool water
Use a clean towel to blot dry
When dry, brush through your lashes with lash wand or fluff up wand

Brow Lamination

  • Discontinue use of retinol, accutane, AHA, BHA, ect. at least one week prior to your appointment.

  • No trimming, waxing, or threading two weeks prior to your appointment.

Lash Extensions

  • Discontinue use of mascara & eye makeup at least 2 days prior to your appointment.

  • Come with freshly cleansed lashes, this allows more time to apply lashes and less time removing makeup.

  • Remove all eyeliner, eyeshadow and concealers.

  • Avoid thick moisturizers, sunblocks and eye creams within a few hours of your appointment.

  • Avoid caffeine, pre-workout, dietary pills, etc.

Lash Lift

  • Discontinue use of mascara & eye makeup at least 2 days prior to your appointment.

  • Arrive to your appointment with clean lashes.

Pre-Care

Brow Lamination

  • Keep brows dry for at least 24-48 hours after service.

  • Avoid saunas and steam rooms for 48 hours.

  • Avoid drying products (retinol, AHA, ect.) directly over brows.

  • Avoid excessive sweat for 24-48 hours.

  • No makeup on brows for 24-48 hours.

  • Do not exfoliate brow area for at least 72 hours.

  • Avoid sleeping face down the first 72 hours.

  • Brush brows daily.

Lash Extensions

  • Keep lashes clean by using Borboleta's lash bath and brushing daily.

  • Do not use regular or waterproof mascara on your lash extensions.

  • Avoid rubbing or pulling on your lash extensions.

  • Avoid eye makeup that leaves residue.

  • Avoid oil-based products around the lash line.

  • Wash your lashes after crying, exercising, swimming, and spray tanning.

  • Stress and hormone changes can affect your natural lash growth cycle.

Lash Lift

  • Keep lashes dry for at least 24-48 hours after service.

  • Avoid saunas and steam rooms for 48 hours.

  • Avoid excessive sweating for 24-48 hours.

  • No mascara or makeup for 24-48 hours.

  • Avoid sleeping face down for the first 72 hours.

After-Care

Brow Lamination

  • If you have any of the following you may not be a good candidate for brow lamination..

  • Pregnant/breastfeeding
    (always consult your physician before getting the service)

  • Skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis

  • Sensitive skin

  • Recent scar tissue

  • Recent laser treatment

  • Aggressive facials
    ​(microdermabrasion, microneedling, ect.)

  • On medication that causes blood or skin thinning

  • Cancer

  • Dry skin

  • Active wounds/breakouts in brow area

  • Permanent makeup in the last 6 weeks

Lash Extensions

  • If you have any of the following you may not be a good candidate for a lash extensions.

  • Pregnant/breastfeeding
    (hormones may cause inconstant lash cycles)

  • Recent Lasik eye surgery
    ​(Obtain clearance from a doctor)

  • Blepharitis

  • Alopecia

  • Chemotherapy

  • Eye infections/pink eye

  • Permanent makeup in the last 6 weeks

  • Regular spray tanning
    ​ (chemicals in spray tan can affect adhesive bonding)

Lash Lift

  • If you have any of the following you may not be a good candidate for a lash lift.

  • Pregnant/breastfeeding
    (always consult your physician before getting the service)

  • Recent Lasik eye surgery
    (Obtain clearance from a doctor)

  • Blepharitis

  • Alopecia

  • Chemotherapy

  • Eye infections/pink eye

  • Permanent makeup in the last 6 weeks

  • Thyroid medications
